Understanding the SmartFlows Messaging Dashboard

The Insights SmartFlows Messaging dashboard is where you can find all your SmartFlows data related to SMS messaging.

Note: This dashboard does not include data related to messages generated outside of SmartFlows.

The dashboard is comprised of seven widgets. A widget is an object in the viewing area that displays a chart, KPI, table, etc. Below you will find sample pictures of the dashboard with numbers associated to each visualization, and a corresponding description. For more information on terms used in this dashboard, check out the Insights Glossary.

Common Issues

If you notice the calculations in the KPIs don’t align with your expectations, check out Common Dashboard Issues.

  1. Number of Active Flows – KPI reporting the number of flows generating a messaging session over the time frame selected.
  2. Total Sent Messages – KPI reporting the number of outbound messages over the time frame selected.
    • Average Message Size – The average outbound text message size in total characters over the time frame selected.
  3. Total Received Messages – KPI reporting the number of inbound messages over the time frame selected.
    • Average Message Size – The average inbound text message size in total characters over the time frame selected.
  4. Messages Sent/Received & Average Message Size by Day – Summary of the total text messages sent, received, and average message size by date over the timeframe selected. This chart displays message patterns and could indicate potential issues.
  5. Sent & Received Messages by Weekday – Summary of average messaging data over a given day of the week.

Note: If the dashboard time frame is “Last 7 days” or shorter, an average by weekday cannot be calculated and this summary will display data similar to the Messages Sent/Received & Average Message Size by Day widget.

  1. Top 10 Messages Sent – The top “from” numbers (i.e., your numbers) to send outbound messages, based on message volume.
  2. Top 10 Messages Received – The top “to” numbers (i.e., your numbers) to receive inbound messages, based on message volume.
