Inbound Facebook

The Inbound Facebook action prepares a flow to be triggered by an incoming Facebook message. The functionality of this action is text-related only.

The Inbound Facebook action could be used to:

  • Manage Facebook discussions with customers and direct them to the appropriate department based on business rules.

  • Provide Two-Factor Authentication using Facebook messaging.

  • Support an additional channel for customer service inquiries.

  • Gather customer feedback for insights into satisfaction with products or services.

     

Note: Before using this action, make sure your Facebook credentials are set up within your IntelePeer account. For more information check out the Facebook Quick Start Guide.

 

Inputs

Assign Facebook credentials to this action to designate the Facebook account your customers are messaging. Once your flow is deployed, click the Assign Number(s) button to select the appropriate Facebook account from the Number Assignment pop-up.

 

Output Variables

Three editable variables are automatically created when a Facebook message kicks off your flow. You can use these variables in other action configurations later on in your flow. For example, if you wanted to send a follow up survey to the customer at the end of your flow, you could use the Sender ID variable ($fbSenderId) in the Send Facebook action Inputs.

Name Variable Description
Page ID $fbPageId Your Facebook page ID.
Sender ID $fbSenderId The Facebook page ID of the person who sent you a Facebook message.
Message Text $fbText The content of the Facebook message you received.
