The Number Assignment Page

This guide describes the number management elements found on the SmartFlows Number Assignment page. From this page, you can:

Overview

On the Number Assignment page you can view all of the “numbers” or methods of contact associated with your account (e.g., phone numbers, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, etc.), and manage their use in flows.

A sample Number Assignment page with the Local Numbers tab selected and one sample row appearing in the table

Each method of contact has its own tab at the top of the page.

Note: You will only see the WhatsApp and Facebook tabs when you access SmartFlows through the CPaaS Portal. They do not appear in the Customer Portal.

Search for a Number

Use the search box on each tab to find a specific number under that category. Use the Search By drop-down list to toggle between searching by a number or the label associated with a number.

Note: You must include at least four characters to perform a search.

View Current Number Assignment Details

In the table under each method of contact tab, the available resources are listed in each row, along with the current flow assignment details.

For example, under the Local Number(s) tab, each resource can be assigned to one voice flow and one SMS flow. If your Local Number is assigned to a flow triggered by an Inbound Call, the exact name of the flow will be listed in the Inbound Voice column. Likewise, if your Local Number is assigned to a flow triggered by an Inbound Text, the exact name of the flow be listed in the Inbound SMS column. If your Local Number is not assigned to a flow triggered by an Inbound Call or Inbound Text “NA” appears in the appropriate columns.

Note: It’s important to know current number assignments because your Local Number can only be assigned to one voice and one SMS flow. For example, if the number is already assigned to a flow triggered by an Inbound Text action and you have a new SMS flow, you must either use a different Local Number or remove the current flow assignment.

You can assign one or more numbers to a flow through the Flow Editor or the Number Assignment page.

  1. Navigate to the appropriate method of contact tab.
