Integrate SmartCommunicator with your database.
-
By linking the app with an existing database, you can pass information from your database into SmartCommunicator, and from SmartCommunicator to your database.
-
For example, if you integrated your marketing database with the app and your database included customer communication preferences, contacts who had previously opted out of text messages would be blocked in SmartCommunicator. You can also collect key words from SmartCommunicator (such as inbound messages with the word "STOP") and send those to your database. That information can then be used to update the customer's communication preferences, and add them to the opt out list.

Use the SmartCommunicator app in dark mode.
-
To change the visual theme, click the three horizontal dots at the top of the window (next to your profile picture), select Settings, Appearance and accessibility, and select "Dark" from the Theme drop-down list.
Note: Dark mode is available for the desktop, mobile, and web versions of SmartCommunicator. However, if you update the visual theme for one version of the app, it won't automatically update for the other versions of the app.

-
Initiate calls from the Messages tab and messages from the Calls tab.
-
From the previous Text Messages section: Click the three dots to the right of an entry, select Call, and click Start Call.
-
From the Recent calls history section: Click the three dots to the right of an entry and select Message to start a conversation with the contact.
-
-
When you click the chat icon on the Text Messages menu a new text box appears, where you can enter a contact name or phone number.
-
As you begin typing, potential matching contacts will appear. Click on the correct contact and click the check mark to open a new conversation window with that contact.
Note: This new text box replaces the dial pad that would previously appear in the panel on the left.
-
-
The new Options icon appears to the right of any attachments in your messages.
-
Click the Options icon (three vertical dots) to view the Preview, Download, and Delete choices.
-
-
The design of the Recent calls history for mobile app users was updated to more closely match the experience when using the desktop version of the app. All functionality remains the same.
-
The following bugs were fixed:
-
SmartCommunicator users can now exchange messages with other SmartCommunicator users.
-
You'll no longer reach a dead-end when adding the SmartCommunicator app for the first time.
-
After a new user clicks the Add button in the Teams Apps page, they will be guided through the process of being granted permission and completing number authentication.
-
-
An issue causing some calls not to appear in the Recent calls history section was resolved. All call records now appear in the history as expected.
-
Previously, when minimizing the Teams desktop window to the point where the Text Messages history disappears, the history would remain blank until the window was maximized again. This issue was resolved, and the chat history is preserved regardless of window size, as expected.
-
When minimizing the app, the dial pad is no longer cut off. Previously, when minimizing the desktop window, the dial pad on the Calls tab would be cut off and the call and new contact buttons couldn't be used.
